His Truth is Marching On... To the Graveyard?

During the election, a quote was revoked in my mind that was stated by a man of great brilliance and valor (I did not remember this quote word by word...but simply remembered it's purpose.)

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."
- George Washington, the First President of the United States

He cautions of the iniquitive ways of this nation's citizens, of the unrighteous ways of politics, of the irrelevant violence that emerges from the depths of political parties. This election has been a bitter, offensive, and detrimental process that has left permanent scars on all who attempted to infiltrate the death trap. Presidential candidates for the majority baffled on about how insufficient their opponent was for the position, rather than speaking about issues they tend to ameliorate while in Office. When they would actually voice their opinions and goals on a specific topic, the nominees would either avoid the subject stealthily or suggest contradicting views about it. On the other hand, vicious voters (yeah alliteration!) would verbally inveigh their attitude towards the other party; often, the "enemy" would be ignorant of the other person's beliefs and impressions of the candidates.

Whoa...What has happened to our "land of the free", our beautiful America, our E. Unus Pluribum we humbly placed as our slogan? When we relate back to history, we find the Romans in a similar scenario: (Do mind the words.)

-"Mm, yes. I live in this glorious and wealthy empire, that fluorishes with orgies and wretched sin that I bathe in every day of my life. The husband of multiple wives, the owner of valuable property, sex out of the hizzow, this...is...the...life. Everything have I, and nothing have I forgotten. I think...hm...Now that I think about it, there IS something missing... Fermented drinks that will smother my life! Yes, now it is perfect..."

Originally, the Roman Empire was focused on their moral values and ethics which consisted of family first, followed by government. TO THE POINT, these indulgences that they involved themselves in blinded the vision of the Roman people and led to their decadence and downfall... And where does this leave America, you may ask? To no surprise, the United States are in similar, yet drastically different scenario. In an equal manor, Americans have removed their focus on what is important in this life. We sulk ourselves in worldly pleasures and blend in with the secular habits of this world. The only difference is this:

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible."
-George Washington, First President of the U.S.

Our country was founded on Christian morals and values, on the Holy Bible, on God the Creator. If we have lost sight of this truth, then there is no chance of survival, there is no chance for peace, there is no chance for love, for good people. We need to unify with one another and God once again, as well as set aside our differences. For, He has already provided a solution for all these desires and needs, a saviour for the people. Isn't that what we all have been searching for? I know that is what I have been seeking, and I know that I have found it. Open your heart, and he shall open your eyes.

"I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
-John 17:20,21
